Zahr El-Leil begins with a rare ceremonial brocade distinguished by its large botanical motifs in shimmering gold lamé. This type of floral jacquard, woven with depth and metallic radiance, was a hallmark of Moroccan celebration wear from the late 1980s to the mid-1990s — a period when ateliers sourced luxury brocade panels from renowned mills in Como and Lyon. Reserved for caftan skirts, tekchita ensembles, and prestige dfina jackets, such textiles were considered premium, worn only for weddings and important family occasions.
Reimagined today, the brocade reveals a new voice.
The neckline opens into a confident V-shape framed with delicate hand-applied l‘aqad, with matching loops sculpting the arm openings. Inside, the dress is doubled with smooth silk, preserving richness while offering refined comfort.
