Long before SHAMS & KAMAR had a name, it existed in the imagination of a child in Tangier.
SHAMS & KAMAR is a personal project founded by Hamza Choukairi.
It was born from observation rather than ambition, shaped by a lifelong dialogue with clothing, culture, and place.
Growing up in Tangier — a city suspended between continents, histories, and rhythms — garments were never just garments. They carried ceremony, transmission, and emotion. Textiles held stories, details mattered, and nothing felt disposable. From early on, unfinished fabrics, inherited techniques, and forgotten pieces felt alive — not as relics, but as material with potential.
SHAMS & KAMAR emerged from this instinct:
to preserve, transform, and reinterpret rather than reproduce. Each piece begins with what already exists.
A fragment, a textile, a trace.
Through contemporary vision and intentional construction, it becomes singular. Nothing is repeated. and nothing is rushed.
This is not nostalgia, and not a trend. It is continuity.
A way of honoring Moroccan savoir-faire while allowing it to evolve naturally, quietly, and freely.
SHAMS & KAMAR live in duality.
Sun and moon.
Structure and fluidity.
Past and present.
A world where clothing becomes memory in motion.
And where the sun meets the moon.
