Description
Lapis Lazuli is a two piece composition built around preservation, movement, and memory. At its core is the sheer floral shirt, kept entirely original, once part of one of my mother’s caftans. Rather than altering its essence, the piece honors its history, allowing the fabric, print, and hand worked sfifa to remain untouched.
Beneath it, a solid under dress was designed to support and elevate the transparency of the upper layer. Rendered in a warm tone with subtle reflections of gold and saffron, it echoes the natural veins found within the lapis lazuli stone, introducing depth and luminosity with every movement.
Delicate tressan at the shoulders structures the silhouette, anchoring the fluidity of the layers while maintaining lightness. The result is a dialogue between past and present, softness and structure, intimacy and presence.
A one-of-one piece where inherited textile, mineral inspiration, and contemporary design meet in quiet harmony.
